Nomura

Due to the high demand, Japanese broker Nomura Holdings has started offering Bitcoin derivatives to its institutional customers. The move comes when Bitcoin (BTC) is in an uncertain period and is currently trading for $30,000.

Nomura will be offering Bitcoin forwards that are not deliverable and options that settle in cash. It means that its customers can begin trading Bitcoin options and futures in the market.

Tim Albers Said: (head of the forex structuring process for Asia ex-Japan)

There’s been a significant amount of volatility in the last few months. When the dust has settled, valuations will become appealing to institutional investors. We’re thrilled to get this going” since this launch “marks the beginning of our exploration of the world of” the international market business.

Nomura’s Expansion in Crypto:

Last year, Japanese bank giant Nomura announced its plans to enter into cryptocurrency. It is “tapping resources within its Singapore-based foreign exchange” to allow cryptocurrency expansion on global markets in the same vein.

The expansion of the global market is coming at a highly crucial moment. The cryptocurrency market has taken around $300 billion in investors’ wealth over the past 45 days. In the end, the crypto market is expected to come under increasing criticism from policymakers worldwide.

However, global macroeconomic conditions aren’t ideal for crypto traders.

It is expected that the Federal Reserve is likely to be aggressive in its rates of interest hikes this year to curb rising inflation. In the same way, the odds of a receding economic economy within the U.S. are higher if it has a two-quarter stretch of GDP that is negative.

Albers said:

We anticipate the market to develop over time and be more regulated, making it more appealing to institutional investors as the volatility is expected to be reduced over time.
