Iggy Azalea has temporarily suspended her career to concentrate on her well-being.
The 32-year-old rapper recently opened for Pitbull on his Can’t Stop Us Now Tour and performed at halftime at the Raiders vs. Texans game in October, but she is now recovering from difficulties following back surgery.
I had what I thought would be a very basic surgery on my back right before I left to correct the concerns I had after travelling two summers in a row on an injury,” she stated in a Twitter thread on Monday.
The “Fancy” rapper claims that she spent three weeks in bed, moving only to go to the restroom, while recovering and was “hooked up to a million machines.”
She wrote, “It occurs quite rapidly.”
I’m approximately 50% recovered but otherwise doing fantastic and feeling extremely happy to be getting better every day,” she said in a subsequent tweet.
In the five weeks since she began her road to recovery, Azalea claims she has worked tirelessly to regain the ability to walk.
“The first day I tried to walk back, I was so weak that I could hardly stay upright for three minutes. The clock just ticked over to 30 minutes! Until I reach perfection, I’m just going to keep chipping away at it every day “she wrote back to a supporter to say that her doctors were pleased with her progress after surgery.
She ended her statement by saying that she now has a greater respect for her body thanks to the ordeal, and that she plans to recover in time for Christmas.
