Ice Spice Set to Sizzle on the Silver Screen in Spike Lee’s “High and Low” Alongside Denzel Washington
In an exciting development for the entertainment industry, rising rap sensation Ice Spice is poised to make her acting debut in renowned director Spike Lee’s upcoming film “High and Low.” The movie, an English-language reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime thriller, will also star Hollywood heavyweight Denzel Washington.
Sources close to the production have revealed that Ice Spice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, will appear in one scene of the highly anticipated Apple Original film.
The 24-year-old rapper has already begun shooting for the project, marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning career.
Ice Spice‘s foray into acting comes on the heels of a meteoric rise in the music industry. The Bronx-born artist skyrocketed to fame following the release of her breakthrough single, “Munch (Feelin’ U),” and subsequent collaborations with Pink Pantheress, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift.
Her upcoming debut studio album, “Y2K,” is set to drop later this year, further cementing her status as a force to be reckoned with in the rap scene.

“High and Low“ marks the fifth collaboration between Spike Lee and Denzel Washington, following their successful partnerships in films such as “Malcolm X,” “He Got Game,” and “Inside Man”.
The project, developed and produced by A24, Escape Artists, and Mandalay Pictures, will be released theatrically by A24 before making its global debut on Apple TV+.
Joining Ice Spice and Washington in the cast are Jeffrey Wright and Ilfenesh Hadera. The script, written by Lee and Alan Fox, promises to deliver a fresh take on Kurosawa’s classic tale of extortion and moral dilemmas.
Ice Spice’s transition from music to acting has been met with enthusiasm from her peers and fans alike. Pop icon Taylor Swift, who collaborated with the rapper on the “Karma” remix, praised Ice Spice’s dedication and focus in an interview with Variety last year. “She’s extremely professional without being cold. Playful and fun without ever taking her eye off the prize,“ Swift remarked.
As anticipation builds for “High and Low,” all eyes are on Ice Spice as she prepares to showcase her acting chops alongside some of the industry’s most respected names.
With her undeniable talent and magnetic presence, the young star is poised to make a lasting impact on both the music and film worlds.
