golden-globe-awards-202

On Monday, the 80th annual Golden Globe Award nominees were revealed.A variety of film and television candidates were announced by Mayan Lopez and Selenis Leyva, two of the actors from “Lopez vs. Lopez,” who are members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).

The 2023 Golden Globes were headed by the nominations for “The Banshees of Inisherin,” a black comedy about a broken friendship set against the Irish civil war. It was nominated for eight awards, including best musical or comedy film, director Martin McDonagh, and screenwriter.

“Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” an original science fiction tale set in a multiverse, was nominated for six awards as well. Five films were nominated this year: “The Fabelmans,” Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical look back at his youth; “Babylon,” a Rabelaisian look at Hollywood’s silent era; and “Elvis.”

The event, which NBC did not air in January 2017 due to HFPA controversy, will return on January 10. Jerrod Carmichael, a comedian, will play host.
