The Washington Redskins picked Daniel up as an undrafted free agent, but they ended up waiving the 6-foot-1 athlete. Soon after, the New Orleans Saints signed him to be their backup quarterback. With the Saints, Daniel’s career was a roller coaster of ups and downs. He only lasted a month before being released to make room for kicker Garrett Hartley. Four days later, he was re-signed, only to be released once more a month later to make room for cornerback Chris McAlister. The Saints added Daniel to their practise squad three days later. A second time, he was cut from the squad, only to be re-signed two days later with the exact same responsibilities. While Daniel was officially listed as a part of the 2009–10 New Orleans Super Bowl champions team, he did not play any role in the game. In 2012, Daniel re-upped with The Saints for another year. In 2013, he was moved to the Kansas City Chiefs, then in 2016, he was sent to the Philadelphia Eagles. First, he was sent back to the Saints in 2017, and then in 2018, he was sent to the Bears.
