A native of Los Angeles, Shapiro entered the world on January 15, 1984. He was brought up in a Conservative Jewish household by a mother who was a television executive and a father who was a composer, both of whom had successful careers in Hollywood. Young Shapiro excelled academically and musically, skipping the third and ninth grades respectively. At the tender age of sixteen, he graduated from Yeshiva University High School of Los Angeles and enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles. At 20, he graduated with a BA in political science and went on to Harvard Law School. After finishing law school, he worked for Goodwin Procter before striking out on his own to establish what is now known as Benjamin Shapiro Legal Consulting.
